Small Groups

Each Sunday after worship, adults gather for informal discussions about our faith journey.  Previous discussions have included book reviews, film discussions, current events and how the world intersects with our faith, and guided meditations.  Some churches may refer to this gathering time as ‘Sunday school’; however, we adopted the term Faith Discussion Group as it more accurately describes our journey together as we wrestle with the deeper issues and questions of our respective faith journeys.

These discussions provide a safe place to ask questions, give theological reflection, affirm one another, and challenge one another as we dive more deeply into the intersection of scripture and faith with our contemporary society and our own lives.

Each week, we invite all who are willing to offer special music during our worship services to meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays for rehearsal.  We sing a variety of musical styles to complement the worship themes and sermon content of each week.

Bluegrass UCC is very involved in community advocacy.  In addition to our pastor, many of our congregants gather for community walks and efforts to promote awareness and advocacy relative to racism, interfaith relationships, the LGBT community, environmental justice, hunger, and homelessness.
